Privacy Policy and Confidentiality

The law protects the relationship between a Client and Psychotherapist. The information shared within the therapeutic relationship cannot be disclosed without written permission of the Client. However there are a few legal exceptions to Client confidentiality.

     These exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which HPS is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
  • If a Client is threating serious bodily harm to another person/s, HPS must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If a Client intends to harm himself or herself, HPS will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If a Client does not wish to cooperate, HPS will take further measures provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.
